Imagine a dreamy little town out in the sticks. At night only the sound of the crickets can be heard. Except, there are no crickets in Wayward Pines.
When Ethan Burke, a secret service agent, arrives looking for two missing colleagues he quickly learns that nothing is what it seems. Everything is off in this little town, and all roads out lead straight back in.
Wayward Pines is a TV mini-series by FOX, based on a novel by Blake Crouch. From what we've seen so far, it's similar in theme and feel to Alan Wake and Bright Falls - making for an excellent horror / mystery / thriller combination, with oodles of atmosphere in brilliant noir style.
If you haven't played it, Alan Wake is an exceptional survival horror game about a writer struggling with his sanity in an eerie remote town. Bright Falls is a creepy, suspenseful, mystery micro-series that sets the backdrop for Alan Wake, and it's excellent. You can actually watch Bright Falls online completely for free.
